Amarillo Travel Center- Amarillo, Texas
GPS: 35.192, -101.7271
Amarillo Travel Center is a great place to stop if you need an overnight location along your travels.
It is directly off of I-40, so it is easy access, other than some road construction on the interstate.
When pulling into the RV travel center you will see the lane split, with Trucks going one direction and RV/Autos going the other.
Normally, we always end up with the trucks.
Our travel trailer is 40 feet long, so when attached to our truck we are almost the length of an 18-wheeler truck.
However, we decided to check out the RV side first. If we didn’t fit, we would move over to the truck side.
Our trailer fit inside the lines, but that was about it.
However, the way the parking spaces are set up allowed us to be able to overhang the space, without blocking any driving area.
We parked in the first spot next to the trees, so we were able to put our slides out.
This area had plenty of sidewalk trails for dog walking and even had doggy poop bag stations, just in case you forgot to bring your own.
The Travel Center itself was closed, due to the Coronavirus outbreak, but they had bathrooms and vending machines outside, that was accessible to travelers if needed.
Because of the strategic placement of the trees, interstate noise was minimal and did not impact our sleep at all.

Absolutely! If we ever pass through this location again, we will be stopping here for the night, and we recommend you do to.
